PROJECT
VOESTALPINE
The task of the transport cars is to semi-automatically transport plate between the bays. The cars travel along a steel rail sunk into the floor.
They were designed this way in coordination with the client to ensure that there were no protruding edges on the floor. All limit switches as well as the current supply are sunk into the floor and do not present a trip hazard. In order to guarantee semi-automated operation, laser safety barriers are built onto both ends of the car that recognise if people are in the way.
It is only in this way that semi-automated control can occur by setting a car on its way after it has successfully been loaded by pressing a button and letting it travel to its destination on its own.
