VOITH WHEEL BEARING SYSTEM
Voith has developed and also patented its own wheel bearing.
Even after decades of heavy operation, simple and quick operation can be undertaken by means of the cone clamping principle. The advantage over another system is that opening with keyway connection or frictional corrosion in the spine shaft is not possible here. The running wheel is removed through the upwardly open wheel case. The crane bridge only needs to be mechanically hoisted in the area of the wheel case or end-piece in order to undertake this work. The newly prepared bores in connection with the fixed, mechanical connections to the end pieces do not need to be measured or adjusted after the running wheel is replaced as the installation position is replaced straight away.
As standard, lifetime lubrication is added to the wheel bearings. As an option, relubrication is possible. As standard, the wheel bearings are of grey iron with spheroidal graphite (EN-GJS 600 or 700) that also stands out due to good self-lubrication and damping qualities. For cranes with high loads, wheel bearing designs that are 42CrM04 hardened are also possible.
