ADVANTAGES
Voith uses the modular construction design in order to also produce complex specialist cranes for this system from components which have already proven themselves on other cranes and whose reliability is already known. Voith drive systems are generally designed for harsh operating conditions and high requirements. Using the same components from the modular system ensures the availability of spare parts for the purposes of servicing.

WHEEL BEARING
SYSTEM
Even after decades of heavy operation, simple and quick maintenance can be undertaken by means of the cone clamping principle. The advantage over another system is that dislodging with keyway connection or frictional corrosion in the spine shaft is not possible here.

GUIDE ROLLERS
& BUFFERS
If advisable or required, four large-scale guide rollers are installed on one side of the crane bridge. The narrow guide is on one side of the craneway so that the opposing driving gear is able to move without opposing constraint forces. Cellulose or rubber buffers are used as shock absorbers.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT FOR HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES
The frequency converters are installed in the switch cabinet for operating in foundries and high temperatures and they are cooled using external air-conditioning.

All the electrics for the crane are installed in a ‘box’ for extremely adverse environmental conditions.

2010 CRANE CONTROL UNIT
In 2009 Voith developed its standard S7 crane software that is able to control up to 9 drives on the crane.

The Voith magnet control system is also integrated into the 2012 crane control system and is only adjusted via parameters.

MAGNET HANGER
Voith have been developing and constructing magnet hangers themselves for decades. Only the magnets are bought in from a long-term partner. The magnet itself was designed and developed together with the supplier and optimally adapted to the task.

6/6 INCLINED ROPE STABILISATION
It is possible to stabilise the load on a crossbeam by means of a well thought out inclined rope system. The cross beam follows the movement of the crane as well as the trolley without swinging at all. The twisting of the crossbeam with any rotation device is effectively prevented. This is the simplest and most effective component on the market and has been patented by Voith.
